Loyalty Program in Action: How Points and Tiers Work in Salesforce Loyalty Cloud

Let’s walk through a typical user experience within the CountryFashion Prime loyalty program, showcasing how points, tiers, and redemptions work together to deliver a seamless and rewarding shopping journey

Introduction:

CountryFashion Prime is our loyalty program designed to reward and retain our valued customers. The program features multiple tiers – Silver, Gold, and Platinum, each offering exclusive benefits based on the customer’s engagement and activity

STEPS:

1. New User Onboarding & Tier Assignment

When a new user registers on our Experience Cloud portal, a loyalty profile is automatically created for them under the Silver tier, which is the entry-level tier in the CountryFashion Prime program.

2. Welcome Bonus Points

As part of the welcome offer, the new user is immediately granted 50 loyalty points upon profile creation. These points can be used toward future purchases and are visible on the user’s profile dashboard

3. Redeeming Points During Purchase

When the user proceeds to make a purchase, They can redeem their loyalty points during checkout. In this scenario, 40 points are redeemed.The payment section reflects the adjusted item cost after point redemption.

4. Impact on Total Cost & Point Balance

The redemption of 40 points reduces the total cost of the purchase. Here’s the breakdown:
1. The user started with 50 points.
2. After redeeming 40 points, 10 points remain from the initial balance.
3. Additionally, based on a purchase of $274, the user earns 27.50 new points.
4. The updated points balance becomes 37.50 (10 remaining + 27.50 earned).

5. Journals Created

Salesforce Loyalty Cloud creates journal entries to record these transactions:
● A Redemption Journal (Debit) entry is generated for the 40 redeemed points.
● An Accrual Journal (Credit) entry is created for the 27.50 earned points

6. Viewing Loyalty Activity on Profile
All loyalty-related details including – Current tier status, Points balance, Redemption and accrual history, Tier benefits can be viewed by the user directly on their profile page.

This journey highlights how Salesforce Loyalty Cloud supports a transparent and personalized loyalty experience. Users are rewarded not only for their purchases but also for their continued engagement, driving higher satisfaction and long-term brand loyalty.
